Our lawful bases
The lawful basis depends on what we are doing. It may include taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the repair business, and consent where the law specifically requires it. Where special category information is genuinely required, we will only process it where an appropriate additional legal condition applies.
Who we may share information with
Where necessary for the service you have requested, information may be shared with insurers, claims-handling partners, independent engineers, repair-related suppliers and service providers, IT and hosting providers, professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or other parties where the law requires or permits it. We do not sell customer personal information to advertisers.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the status of the enquiry, quote, repair or claim and any legal, insurance, accounting, dispute or regulatory retention requirements. Different record types therefore have different retention periods. Data that is no longer required is deleted, anonymised or securely disposed of.
Security
We use access controls, secure sessions, restricted staff permissions, audit controls and other technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information. Sensitive claim information is restricted to staff who need it for their role.
International processing
Some technology or service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, we take steps intended to ensure that an appropriate UK data-protection transfer mechanism or safeguard is in place where required.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access your information, request correction or erasure, restrict or object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis relied upon. Some rights are subject to legal limitations and exceptions.
To make a data-protection request, email crash-repair@paisleyautocare.com. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing personal data.
Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
